PD Axle - Stabbed
Last night Police Dog Axle was stabbed four times in Derbyshire. His condition is listed as critical.
Once again one of our Police dogs have put themselves in harms way to protect the public and their handler.
We must get Finns Law into place to protect these dedicated and loyal animals.
PC Dave Wardell says:
"This tragic incident once again demonstrates the heroism and courage of our police dogs who put themselves in harms way to protect the public and their handlers.
“Despite my best efforts I haven’t been able to get Finns Law in place prior to PD Axle being stabbed last night, this is something that deeply troubles me - we as a society must do our upmost to protect these brave police dogs.
“Finns law is back in Parliament for the second attempt tomorrow. It may be too late for PD Axle but I'm hopeful this time all MP’s will support the reading.
"These loyal and heroic animals dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our community, the least we can do is protect them with Finns Law."
Finns Law is back in Parliament tomorrow - 6th July for the second reading after the first was objected by MP Christopher Chope.
